Cross Step Waltz, inspired by the graceful Valse Boston of the 1920s, combines the elegance of traditional waltz with foxtrot-inspired cross-steps. Revived in 1995, it captivates dancers with its flowing, adaptable movements and is danced to slower waltz music, inviting creativity and modern improvisation.
Karn, founder of Feeling Flow, has taught at Stanford's Bechtel International Center, Jikoji Zen Center, Friday Night Waltz, and the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto. He led the first MIT-CNC and Stanford Alumni workshops and hosts community classes and world-class artists at Tea & Tango. Teaching social dance since 2017, Karn blends engineering and meditation into his philosophy, making dance easy and fun. You can read more about him here www.feelingflow.org/founder
Hearing how much her friends enjoyed social dancing, Rachel attended a free waltz class in 2018 ahead of a big event called the Viennese Ball. She fell in love with dance, went on to take more classes, and soon found herself performing at the same Ball where she took her first steps. Talk to Rachel for encouragement to dance, biology fun facts, poetry snippets, and strength training tips. Better yet, ask her to dance!
