Yoga Dance Flow is an embodied dance experience that utilizes the structure of Yoga to focus and cultivate body awareness before flowing into creative exploration and expression with dance. Each session in this mini series consists of a Vinyasa Yoga warm-up, authentic movement improvisation practice, and guided dance explorations specific to the day’s theme. Expect to work solo and in partnerships to build connections through dance.

Changing the quality of our movement naturally expands our movement vocabulary and expression abilities. Play with different intentions behind your impulses and witness yourself shapeshift.
Slow down and feel every part of your body, the negative spaces in your shape, your movement, and intimately know all the textures of your dance. You will have the chance to work solo and with partners to carefully observe and describe your dance as you pay attention to how it feels to you and what it evokes in others.
Exercise your trust and commitment muscles as you acknowledge, allow, and steward your body’s natural movement impulses into their full expression. Let your mind take a back seat and watch what happens when your body is allowed to fully flow.
Alyse Romano
Alyse is a movement artist with a foundation in ballet and contemporary dance. She holds a B.F.A. in dance from UCSB and is experienced in teaching Yoga, ballet, contemporary, improvisation and choreography to all ages. Alyse views conscious movement and breath as tools for embodiment and expression that can truly help us live our lives with more presence, connection, and flow.

Each class in the Yoga Dance Flow moves through a journey of different themes intended to gently open new movement pathways and build confidence in expressing authentically through movement.
We all have a unique way of moving and this series is an opportunity to unlock your personal movement signature so it can express itself to the world.
Whether you are complete beginner at dance and yoga, practicing yoga and dance solo, dancing in partnership, or a professional. Vinyasa Dance Flow offers embodiment tools that can bring more presence into your daily movements and into your dance life.
